Silhouette InstaLift™

Silhouette InstaLift™ is an FDA-cleared unique dual-action treatment that produces two desirable facial outcomes: an immediate lifting of the tissue in the mid-face area and a gradual regeneration of collagen to add volume, a result that gets better over time.

Immediate Lifting Effect

The lifting effect is immediate and discreet. It is the result of skin elevation at the time of the procedure. After inserting the sutures, your physician will adjust your skin to the desired elevation and use bi-directional cones on the sutures to hold it in place. In this way, Dr. Lieman will reshape the contours of your face for a more youthful appearance.

Gradual Regeneration Of Collagen

Silhouette InstaLift acts in the subcutaneous tissue and stimulates fibroblast activation and the gradual production of Type I and Type III collagen. Silhouette InstaLift sutures are made from material that is well known and has been used for more than 30 years in a number of biomedical and pharmaceutical applications.

The small bi-directional cones on the Silhouette InstaLift™ suture provide fixation points for your elevated skin. This action is what helps to restore shapeliness to the face.

Is Silhouette InstaLift™ Right For You?

Silhouette InstaLift™ offers an excellent option for women and men who are looking for a natural, younger look but who don’t want to undergo a traditional surgical facelift or deal with the ongoing maintenance required with injectables three to four times a year. Suitable candidates have good skin quality, with moderate sagging of the mid-face. The skin should not be too thick/heavy or too thin. Patients who have any known allergy or foreign body sensitivities to plastic biomaterial or in situations where internal fixation is otherwise contraindicated (e.g. infection).

What areas of the face does Silhouette InstaLift™ treat?

The procedure lifts and restores contours to the mid-face and cheek area as well as the submental neck.

During The Treatment

Before conducting the treatment, Dr. Lieman will explain where the Silhouette InstaLift™ sutures will be placed using a marking pen.

Before sutures are inserted into the sub-cutaneous tissue a local anesthetic is injected. The sutures are guided through the subcutaneous tissue and extracted at each bi-directional exit point. Once the sutures have been inserted, Dr. Lieman will reposition the skin to obtain the desired lifting effect. The ends of the sutures are then cut off. There is relatively low level of discomfort during and after your treatment.

The number of sutures applied depends on skin laxity, the condition of your skin and  your cosmetic needs.

How is Silhouette InstaLift™ different from Thread Lifts?

Silhouette InstaLift is a new technology and procedure having been FDA-cleared since 2015. Rather than just repositioning the skin, Silhouette InstaLift focuses on the underlying layers of the skin as that is what really causes sagging. Additionally, an important advancement is that these sutures are not permanent; they are absorbed by the body over time. As they absorb, they stimulate collagen renewal, helping to achieve a younger natural look.

Side effects that may happen with Silhouette InstaLift™

After this procedure patients may experience a minimal acute inflammatory response. This may include feelings of minor pain, swelling and bruising. Other potential side effects may include sensory nerve injury, asymmetry or banding. Dr. Lieman will discuss all possibilities during your in-office assessment. Any material sensitivity / allergic reactions should be reported to the physician immediately.
