PRP Facelift

PRP Facelift gets its name through drawing a patient’s blood and extracting the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) from the red blood cells using a centrifuge. Platelet Rich Plasma contains a concentrated amount of growth factors, and active proteins that help with tissue and injury healing. Growth factors are known to help heal damaged tissues, by naturally prompting an inflammation process to incite collagen production and other rejuvenative processes.

How does the PRP Facelift work?

In this treatment the PRP is skillfully injected into the face, often in conjunction with other hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Restylane. This results in a stimulation of collagen; plumping and firming of the skin giving it a more youthful appearance, minimization of fine lines, and improvement of skin tone and color. The procedure is proceeded by a topical numbing cream, and is quick and painless.

Who is a candidate for the PRP Facelift?

Anyone who feels the effects of aging! This procedure can benefit anyone who is noticing the effects of aging such as fine lines to moderate wrinkles, mild laxity, and a change or dullness in skin tone. We offer complimentary consultations where Dr. Lieman will assess your concerns and customize a treatment plan that best fits your needs. The PRP Facelift can be used in overall rejuvenation or in targeted areas such as under eye hollows for tired looking eyes or sunken cheeks to help with volume.

What are the potential side effects?

Similar to regular filler injections there is a possibility of mild bruising or redness at the injection site, mild swelling, and there is a low risk of infection. Any side effects are not long lasting.

PRP at Elite Aesthetics

Platelet Rich Plasma, or PRP, is a natural blood product with medical and cosmetic uses. Its growing popularity is due to the short time the procedure takes, the lack of side effects, and the visible results. A small amount of a patient’s blood is drawn, and spun in the FDA-approved Eclipse PRP centrifuge system, to separate the red and white blood cells from the platelets and plasma. The latter two components are combined to create plasma with a 5 to 10 times greater concentration of platelets, growth factors, and active proteins, which provide a variety of benefits when injected or micro-needled back into the body.

The growth factors and proteins within the PRP stimulate a stem cells response that promotes the regeneration of tissue, collagen growth, new blood vessel formation and the acceleration of wound healing. Growth factors play an important part in helping to regulate cellular growth and maintain a healthy skin structure and function, promote the formation of collagen and elastin fibers and stimulate biochemical pathways that promote tissue repair and regeneration. Therefore, having the ability to reuse your own growth factors within the PRP can help to rewind the appearance of aging and wrinkles. Benefits of PRP include:

  • Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Skin firming
  • Skin tone and color
  • Encouragement of collagen and volume loss
  • Reduction of dark under eye circles
  • Minimization of acne scarring and stretch marks
